Who or what is Earth named after?
I think God named the Earth "Earth" in Genesis when he created everything. The word means soil.

It is the only planet in our Solor System that can have life living on it. It is the only planet with water.

The surface of Earth is made of land which is rocky and water which can be fresh or salt water. The next layer is the mantle which is rock which flows like tar. The next layer is liquid iron and the middle of Earth is a solid iron ball.

It is a thin layer of gases. It is made up of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.9% argon, 0.03% carbon dioxide.
